As the end of the school year approaches, we know many parents are giving added attention to grades. Don't forget that ParentLink is the place for parents to access grades, attendance and assignment information.

Registration Dates Announced For 2013 School Year
Attention Parents!
The registration and Meet the Teacher dates for the 2013-2014 school year are set.
Meet the Teacher day and registration for all elementary schools will be Thursday, August 15 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Registration times for middle and high schools vary by school and by grade. For a complete list of times and dates for middle and high schools, take a look at the Meet the Teacher Schedule.

Order Your Yearbook Now
It's not too late to order your Edwards yearbook. The 2013 edition of The Panther will be delivered on yearbook day, June 5. Order your copy now and it will be delivered to your homeroom class. Strings Solo and Ensemble Results
Congratulations to string orchestra students Benjamin Buck, Olivia Davis and Hagen Bell for receiving "Superior" scores in the 2013 Solo and Ensemble event held on Saturday, April 27. Derek White and Henry Mayo also performed very well and recieved "Excellent" scores.
Solo and Ensemble Festival Results
Congratulations to all students who participated in the Solo and Ensemble Festival this past Friday evening. We had over 80 students participating in 53 events. The Edwards students received 49 superior and 4 excellent ratings. This festival has given the EMS band the final points necessary to receive the Outstanding Performance Award. This award is the highest honor given to band programs by the South Carolina Band Director’s Association.
Region Glider Challenge Champs
Congratulations to Clary Miles, Khalil Anderson, John Robert Ayers, and Robert Weir for winning the Regional Glider Challenge. More than 60 eighth grade students from Anderson and Pickens Counties competed in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning event at Lockheed Martin at the South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center. In the Glider Challenge, students explore the relationship between force and motion and the effects of weight and lift on the glider. Most importantly, they learn how to work in small teams to solve a problem and accomplish a goal. Teams competed in several categories, including Distance, Target (Accuracy), and Artistic Design.

New Physical Form for Athletics
Any rising seventh or eighth grade student who wishes to participate in school athletics or cheerleading for the 2013-14 school year must have a physical form dated after April 1, 2013. Forms may be picked up from Mr. Wright or downloaded from this link. Please note that this is a new form. Physicals must be turned in before summer practices begin.

Follett Electronic Bookshelf
Students at Edwards may now check out Follett eBooks. They can turn a laptop into a library and give students powerful new ways to interact with text. Our media specialist, Mrs. Martin, will give all students an orientation to the Follett eBook service during their Language Arts classes. Click here to access the Follett site.
